waiting on the Lord-2

17 September 2011
WE have solid reason to wait—reasons may be of  variant factor BUT the source is the same.
 Reasons for waiting on God:
  • 'Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, LORD our God. Therefore our hope is in you,for you are the one who does all this'. Jeremiah 14:22
  • 'Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long'.Psalm 25:5
  • 'The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing' Psalm 145:15-16
The benefits of waiting on God:

  • But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles,They shall run and not be weary,They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
Waiting apparently leads to lot of  expectation, hope, trust and patience :
  • ‘In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. Psalm  5:3
  • ‘Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart.1 Corinthians 4:5
  • We wait in hope for the LORD;he is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20
  • I will wait for the LORD, …..I will put my trust in him. Isaiah 8:17
  • we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently, Romans23:25

Actually in waiting , we explore and learn many new things in life. We will never be the same after that.

  • We learn God Himself.
  • God is revealing His perfections,
  • His flawless ability to be in charge of every detail.
  • His timing is split-second.
  • He is omniscient, omnipresent,
  • He works all and in all.
  • He gives confirmations.
  • He gives us assurances of His real power over the enemy .
  • He gives the grace to await His purposes.
'Without this faith, it is impossible to please Him, for all who come to God must believe that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Heb. 11:6).
'And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary'.Galatians 6:9

Waiting means resting in God’s timing and activity while taking care of our responsibilities—On the other hand we are at rest and be still.
Do not run ahead of the Lord and taking matters into our own hands and turning to our own human strategies.
Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; we need time from our normal activity to get alone with the Lord.Waiting for the Lord includes involves us in positive actions, according to His promises and His timing.

'The eyes of all look to you, .....
at the proper time. You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing'. Psalm 145 :15

Wait on the Lord

16 September 2011 Waiting on God-

Waiting on GOD means exercising confidence  in God's timing and help during difficult times-Confidence in God not in my own resources

In the modern age of conveniences, waiting is a big thing in life. When we think of waiting, what comes to our mind? -waiting at the airport ,at doctor’s room, at the supermarket, or at traffic signals or jammed in the  busy traffic. We do not like waiting, but habitually life is full of waitings.
Obviously a  lot of  questions pop up  about the nature of waiting like:For What, Whom, How, Why, Where etc… “For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth” Psalm 37:9

  • The Essential Factors in Waiting on the Lord requires a clean Time-Log.
  • I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning— Yes, more than those who watch for the morning". Psalm 130:5-
Bible teaches about our waiting is a waiting on or waiting for the Lord and His loving kindness. We need a special ability to wait on the Lord,  You need 100% confidence (no doubting) and focus your mind  on God. It means confidence in God’s as a  person: confidence in His wisdom,is unfailing  love, accurate timing, understanding our situation and that of the world .In other words It means knowing and trusting in God’s principles, promises, purposes, and power.

  • “Wait patiently for the Lord! Wait confidently for him! Do not fret over the apparent success of a sinner, a man who carries out wicked schemes! Psalm 37:7.
  • ‘Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Psalm37:6-8
  • ‘LORD, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God. Psalm 38:14-16
  •  I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry.Psalm 40:1-3

Of Course Waiting Involves Negatives and Positives, of the specific  matter. The most difficult aspects of waiting is to learn to strike a  perfect balance between. the negatives and the positives ,it demands, great strength, courage, patience, and endurance.

Waiting Involves Seeking the Lord that is what God has commanded us.
  • But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always. Hosea 12:6
  • Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us. Psalm 123:2

Let your mind be calm to wait under Lord's feet

Prayer during Distress

15 September 2011- Prayer during Distress
Psalm 61: It is a devotion and request to God through prayer, in the day of our distress and trouble,  which can relieve us and enable us to walk in peace.
Wherever we are, as children of God, we have the right to access to the throne of Grace, either in sorrow  nor in solitude. The burden may to be too heavy to bear due to physical and mental strain. “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.”James 5:13
1 Hear my cry, O God;
   listen to my prayer.
This is the way you have to act and resort to typical prayer:
  • do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”. Philippians 4:6
  • Hear my prayer, LORD; let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. Psalm 102:1-2
  • Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary”. Psalm 28:2
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
   I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

when you are far off or, so depressed God knows the heart  and will lend a helping hand.
  • ‘For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.’ Psalm 27:5
  • ‘The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold’. Psalm 18:2
  • He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. Psalm 62:6
3 For you have been  my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
  • ‘The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe’. Proverbs 18:10
  • ‘The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold’. Psalm 18:2

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings,
  • Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings’. Psalm 17:8
  • ‘Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever’. Psalm 23:6

    "I called on the LORD in distress;
The LORD answered me and set me in a broad place
." Psalm 118:5

  • "When the LORD brought back the captivity .......,We were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter,And our tongue with singing.........,The LORD has done great things for them. The LORD has done great things for us. And we are glad."Psalm 126:1-3

Divine Protection-2

14 September 2011 Divine Protection-2

The right hand has a special  touch and power, Search the Bible and learn more of it.Take shelter under the Mighty Right hand of God.
5 The LORD watches over you—
   the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
  • “..God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.(Isaiah 41:3).
  • ‘Your right hand, LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, LORD, shattered the enemy’(Exodus 15:6)
  • “Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right hand those who take refuge in you from their foes”.(Psalm 17:7)
  •  “your right hand is filled with righteousness”.(Psalm 48:10)
  • “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me.(Psalm 138:7)
  • You have been a refuge for the poor,a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat”. Isaiah25:4
  • For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.Psalm 109:31
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
   nor the moon by night.
Both day and night has terror and shocks, we cannot expect things to go smoothly always. Satan has laid traps cunningly in all the ways we walk. Untill and unless we are not protected by the Mighty power, we fall.
  • You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, Psalm 91:5
  • “They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He … will guide them  and lead them beside springs of water. Isaiah 49:10
  • ‘Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them,  nor any scorching heat. Revelation 7:16
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
   he will watch over your life;

This is my favorite verse and I used  to recall whenever i am stuck.Read it along . you too can feel the power passing through the knots of life untangle slowly.
  • 'No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage'.Joshua 1:5

  • “The LORD protects and preserves them— they are counted among the blessed in the land”. Psalm 41:2
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
   both now and forevermore.

  • “You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. Deuteronomy 28:6
  • “he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Proverbs 2:8
  • “in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6

In summation: Let us see the the keywords "watches over," " keep you," not harm " The basic factor that explains the power of exercising great care, loaded with, carefulness, faithfulness, diligence and attentiveness . He protect us from all dangers and harm.
