Good deeds are spontaneous acts of kindness, accommodation, generosity, charity, assistance, help -all performed with the simple intention of being helpful and no expectation for compensation of any kind.
We do certain things in order to gain popularity but intentions for doing good things varies per person’s inner thoughts.
Bible teaches us straightly what we should do.
- "Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven. When you give a gift to someone in need, don't shout about it as the hypocrites do -- blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity. I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone, don't tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. Matthew 6:1-5
- “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”.Colossians 3:17
Some times when we do good deeds, we are targeted in wrong sense and hurt to the core from the way they behave or when they talk.
- “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up”. Galatians 6:9
When you have compassion try to go about your way that what God expects from you.
- “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
“In the same way, let your light shine before men,
that they may see your good deeds and
praise your Father in heaven”. Matthew 5:16
