you are a chosen vessel

26 November 2011
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…..My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.”  Joel2:26

The Lord will repay us for the years the locusts have eaten. In our life we have encountered looses in many ways.

What are these "locusts" in our life? –it may be failures, disappointment, frustration, closed doors, always depressing situation, bad health,miserable family conditions, unemployment, let down feeling etc.

Lord promises us to bless us through a new green pastures ,where we can see double fold blessings. All our losses will be rewarded in His own time.

  • Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. Isaiah 54:4
It is a very strong and encouraging promise for God’s children. He will never leave His chosen people to be ashamed at any cast. God must have chosen you as a vessel for His purpose. You will be amazed to see the way in which you are chosen.
I like to share some verses from the Bible :
  • “…for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”Exodus 33:17
  • Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; Jeremiah1:5
  • But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts. I was cast upon You from birthFrom My mother’s womb You have been My God.Psalm 22:9-10
  • From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.I will ever praise you.Psalm71:6
  • Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely…..My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book Psalm 139:4-16
  • “…this is what the LORD says— he who created you, .... he who formed you, Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1-2
  •  “….I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other;There is no God besides Me. Isaiah45;4
 'You are special' because the Lord Almighty has chosen you as His children and cared for you as a father.
  • “….. in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Deuteronomy 1:31
  • "I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4
 The way of the Lord is different. When we are created in a meticulous way by the creator He will never lets us down to face any  lose or to be ashamed.

 Praise the Lord
God be with you

I have set the LORD always before me;

25 November 2011
We all learn new things everyday, but nothing stays about for more than few hours or one or few days. Why? because  it all depends on the intensity of realization, understanding  and  adaptation to a  new concept.

Understanding some basic principles of life can help us to adopt and pursue  a constructive way towards life.

The intricate and hard situations sometimes leave us in a pathetic  and upset (not able to share or even tell others
May be similar to the one as we read  the following verse in the bible:
  • “You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you. Scorn has broken my heart and has left me helpless; I looked for sympathy, but there was none, for comforters, but I found none.Psalm69:19-20
Our heart might have prayed silently, looking up for help, earnestly trusting Jesus as:
  • In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame.Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me.Be my strong refuge,Psalm 71:1-2
Live in the present, focus your thought,with an eye on the future...Hold God’s hand and pass through the crisis. The simple thought as below quoted from The  Holy Bible will lift us up.Do not lose your spirit.
  • I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand ,I shall not be movedPsalm 16:8
  • "With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.Psalm18:29
  • If it had not been the LORD who was on our side,........,When men rose up against us,Then they would have swallowed us alive,When their wrath was kindled against us;Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul;Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.” Blessed be the LORD,Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the Fowler's;The snare is broken, and we have escaped . Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.Psalm124
None in the whole world can help you in the right direction, except our heavenly Father.He has whole world in HIS HANDS.

Our help comes from the LORD,Who hath made heaven and earth.

Cheer up. God be with you

Positive approach during Crisis

Awesome-God's creation A beauty of green and red mix
Kodaikanal-Tamil Nadu
24 November 2011
We often have difficulty choosing a positive attitude when there is a crisis,a  tragedy, or a challenging circumstances. Precisely what we need is a positive attitude and adaptability in the mind-set

Maintaining a positive attitude in difficult times, demands us to have broad perception and to hang up our erroneous judgments. Our attitude is directly related to our perception and interpretation of events (always in favour of ourselves).

Recognize that all our experiences  particularly the most difficult ones – gives us a starting points to learn and  to grow in life.  It is good to have this understanding during  time of crisis. The best way to practice is to use applied faith.

Applied faith means that you are able to have a strong faith (during a difficult time) that there will be something good that will come your way- even if you cannot see it during crisis time.
Bible gives a  wake call to our perplexed mind:

  • “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me. Psalm 54:15
Take a positive step and approach a crisis or a trial with God’s guidance and instructions. Heed to His voice  and  feel the presence of God ,during difficult times. Everything happens for good ,if you believe Jesus.Nothing is impossible for God.
The verses may be of some help:

  • Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. Psalm 84:5-6.
  • It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes. Psalm 119:71
  • Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”Isaiah30:20-21
  • “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
  • "Consider it pure joy, …… whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:2-6
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8

Nothing will harm you.

God be with you

Recounting all the wonderful things

A natural spring water with ferns
 @Kodaikanal-Tamil nadu
23 November 2011 Count your blessings.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus". Philippians 4:19

Life moves fast. Some times good things happen, and other times we face an attack of difficulty after difficulty. When the waves of trouble forces  us into the grime condition, we must not give up, lose heart, or stop trusting God. We are susceptible to be overwhelmed by the evils of the world.

There is so much to be thankful for, and so many blessings to count. We should never lose hope, and we must always find a  reason to be thankful. When we cross many hurdles in life and come to an end , our heart over flows with happiness.

"When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion,
   we were like those who dreamed
Our mouths were filled with laughter,

   our tongues with songs of joy.Psalm 126:1-2

Count your blessings, recounting all the wonderful things the Lord has done for you.

So what are you waiting for? Start counting!
  • “And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. Ezekiel 34:26
  • “Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful work ; Which You have done; And Your thoughts toward us, Cannot be recounted to You in order; If I would declare and speak of them, They are more than can be numbered. Psalm 40:5
A secret to happiness lies in counting your blessings, while offering thanks to God. Sing the song  thinking of all the blessings you have so far received from God.

When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

So, amid the conflicts, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey's end.

Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

It Really Works. I Like  to encourage you to count your blessings, specifically, one by one. The list will never end. It helps you focus on the positive things, and put off the negatives in right perception. Blessings are part of miracles in our life.

  • “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.Hebrews12:1

  • “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22
God be with you

when wicked prowl on every side-God will rescue you

Peace lily  @ Tirunelveli-Tamil Nadu
22 November 2011

The whole world lies in wickedness. The wicked freely move around on every side and everywhere. They roam about or they seem to be completely unrestrained and uncontrolled in their activities.

 “The wicked prowl on every side, When vileness (evil) is exalted among the sons of men."           Psalm 12:8

  •  When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;when the wicked rule, the people groan". Proverbs 29:2
 This verse shows the pathetic state of the senseless people:
Hear this, you foolish and senseless people,
   who have eyes but do not see,
   who have ears but do not hear:
 Should you not fear me?” declares the LORD."

Wicked people are left loose on their own not having the fear of God; their heart are hardened and not realizing the mighty power of God.

   “Should you not tremble in my presence?
I made the sand a boundary for the sea,
   an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.
The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail;
   they may roar, but they cannot cross it. Jeramiah5:
21-19

The whole world lies in wickedness ( like their father the devil) they go about to do mischief. They harm the poor and needy, attack the innocent people, lay traps for them; hurt them and kill them

“Among my people are the wicked
   who lie in wait like men who snare birds
   and like those who set traps to catch people.
 Like cages full of birds,
   their houses are full of deceit;
they have become rich and powerful
 and have grown fat and sleek.
Their evil deeds have no limit;
   they do not seek justice.
They do not promote the case of the fatherless;
   they do not defend the just cause of the poor.
Should I not punish them for this?”
   declares the LORD.Jeramiah5:21-19

Therefore we are in need of persistent divine protection.

 “He is my refuge and my fortress,
   my God, in whom I trust.
   Surely he will save you
   from the fowler’s snare
   and from the deadly pestilence.

   no harm will overtake you,
   no disaster will come near your tent.
   For he will command his angels concerning you
   to guard you in all your ways;
Psalm 91:2-3; 10-11

This is an assurance Lord gives you:

 “Because he(you) loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
Praise the Lord

Gods anger on the wicked people.

Cosmos @ Kodaikanal-Tamil Nadu
21 November 2011
A strong and a strange question always pokes our mind - how the wicked people enjoy their life with all comforts and blessings?

While the righteous (nobody is perfect – yet washed in the blood of Jesus-we are afraid to do or attempt for evils) the man always faces problems and sufferings.
  • “..how can a man be righteous before God? Job 9:2

Wicked people were mean and bad; mostly they delight in doing mischief. They are greedy of the world, because they find that all the riches flow upon them directly. They plot evil plans (ways of doing mischief) on good people (whom they hate for their goodness and reputation).
  • “those who with a word make someone out to be guilty, who ensnare the defender in court and with false testimony deprive the innocent of justice”.Isaiah 29:21

They prosper in such wicked course of actions and therefore their hearts are hardened. They have become great in the world; rich and prosper and thrive upon.
Pride and arrogance dominate their activities and we cannot find even a trace of mercy or compassion.

Bible quotes about the wicked as:
  • They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills. Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.  From their callous hearts comes iniquity, their evil imaginations have no limits. They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression. Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.” Psalm 73:5-9.
When they have become great, got authority and power  in their hands,  yet they fail to make use of that for doing good to others.

And nevertheless they prosper still; even the worst men has the best things. (almost rich) however we are not suppose to assume that, because they prosper, God allows their practices. Definitively not, they will receive their sentence (not executed speedily) against their evil works it will be effected.

There was  general corruption of all orders and degrees, seen everywhere. Power politics dominate and we can see the trace and  the shadow of evil things spread all over.

  • Should I not punish them for this?” declares the LORD. Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? Jeremiah5:29
  • A horrible and shocking thing…. . But what will you do in the end? (Jeremiah. 5:30, 31)
Simply relax and Ask Jesus for the heavenly wisdom to know the good from bad.
God will protect you.

 The LORD reigns,… he sits enthroned between the cherubim.....Psalm 99:1

God be with you
