Turn around to check- Praise the Lord

31 December 2011

Praise the Lord your God who has been with you throughout the year 2011- partaking in all our activities- in joy, sorrow, in conflicts , in tears and fears, in honor and  dishonor, in sickness ,in losses, sad times, depression etc (if you check the list is never ending for each one of us)

In all HE has been the nerve centre of our life. If we have been left on our own way….?...  (I really miss the words to describe the consequences)
  • "Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,

      Because His compassions fail not'.Lamentations 3:22

 An attempt has been made to review the various ways in which God is assisting us. I am sure it varies between individuals and cannot be contained in this blog

Some of the example I like to post here .

  • ·         Mighty God  as revealed in HIS works.

Since ancient times no one has heard,
   no ear has perceived,
no eye has seen any God besides you,
   who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.”
 Isaiah 64:4

·                     Ultimate care and concern

“ I have upheld since your birth,
   and have carried since you were born.
 Even to your old age and gray hairs
   I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
   I will sustain you and I will rescue you
.”Isaiah 46:13-14

·                     Full protection

For he will command his angels concerning you
   to guard you in all your ways
 Psalm 91:11

·                     Sustained support

“…upheld by Me from birth
      Who have been carried from the womb
      Even to your old age, am He,
      And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
      I have made, and I will bear
      Even I will carry, and will deliver you. Isaiah 46:3-4

·                     Constant watch

“the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.  ‘And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil…… the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you today;  and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the LORD your God,….. Deuteronomy 11:11-28

·                     Affirmation during enemy’ attack

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven” Deuteronomy28:6-7

·                     Confirmation of HIS presence
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
·                     Protection and peace in your borders

“For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;
         He has blessed your children within you.
  He makes peace in your borders,
         And fills you with the finest wheat.Psalm 147:13-14

·                     Mighty hand in the days of your life
No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.  Be strong and courageous…Joshua 1:5

·                     Perfect guide

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
   I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32:8

           Bless the LORD, O my soul;
              And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
                 Bless the LORD, O my soul,

                 And forget not all His benefits: Psalm 103:1-2

Happy and a Blessed new year 2012

God be with you

Count your blessings-3

30 December 2011
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song”. Psalm 28:7

With overwhelming heart, it is the time to thank God, who has been (so far) with you(me) from child hood to this age.
Let us stop for a moment and thank HIM for His Grace and sustained support.

Sing with me the following song:

O God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home!

. Under the shadow of Thy throne,
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the  op'ning day.

There is nothing constant in life except change.
 Times have changed,
 life has changed for the better…. with JESUS.

God bless.

Count your blessings-2

29 December 2011-
It is really a happy time to turn-around to have a look
at the past months we have crossed.
It is a ‘jumble pack’-mixed with excitements,
anxiety,
anticipations,
achievements,
awestruck moments, and of course
the other side –
fears,
tears
sorrows,
humiliations,
neglected feeling,
sad moments,
loneliness, closed doors etc-

Okay - Fine.

when God takes care of you everything is for Good. Learn to lean on Jesus.

  • “….in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose..Romans 8:28
  • “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God “, 2 Corinthians 4:15
Sing merrily with an open heart: Praise the Lord.

Count your blessings with smiles,
Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.

Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.

Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.

Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.

Count your health instead of your wealth;
Love your neighbor as much as yourself.

 Year end is a perfect time
to stop, rewind,
think, then reflect and remember to count your blessings,
give thanks and
be grateful for all that you have.

Praise the Lord
                                                             God bless

Count your blessings

28 December 2011
“Praise  be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.

God has poured out HIS abundance on us from the heavenly realms in all manner of blessings.
Counting your blessings can be a challenge , rather it’s so easy and natural to focus on our losses.
“Count your blessings. Name them one by one. Count your blessing, and see what God has done.”
Bible says, “ in everything give thanks.” Learn to follow this verse, and thank God, even when something happens that appears to be bad or worst.
Say aloud “Thank you, Lord Jesus, your power is manifested in my emergency. You are still  in control”. Both fine and dreadful things may cross our life. It is good that GOD has allowed it to happen for some good reason. Your faith is the evidence to show that you believe that God knows  the best.

  • "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
  • "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
  • “…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • "I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing. -- Ezekiel 34:26
We enjoy a lot of blessings. But usually we are too busy and tend to forget to pause and thank God with a grateful heart. Remember that, we have really seen great things in life. (probably miracles )

  • "We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!  For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near .Psalm 75:1
Year end is a perfect time, to stop, rewind, think, then reflect and remember and  to count your blessings.

 Give thanks and be grateful for all that you have.

Praise the Lord
 God bless

Keeping up Christmas-2

27 December 2011
The real Christmas challenge belongs to Christians. Let us learn  more and try to reciprocate it.

  •          The giving and receiving gifts is a crucial part of the Christmas celebration- (Giving is better than receiving) Christmas is about the Greatest Gift God gave us all- the gift of love.

(Let your love (affection) be pure and not tarnished by filthy things).

All outward show can be a hypocrisy (pretense) in our life.(It is a sin).

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in a Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith…. . it is the gift of God  not by works, so that no one can boast.  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. Ephesians 2:8-9

· The Christmas tree is fully decorated and placed
at home. When you look at the beautifully decorated
tree, think about the tree that was used to get
us forgiveness and life in this world.

He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that
we might die to sins and live for righteousness
by his wounds you have been healed.”1 Peter 2:24

Have a Christ-filled Christmas and...Keep Close To Jesus

It is not the décor
but the feel and
the inner most  pure thought embedded with HIS laws
 that matters the most.

Enjoy with an open mind and heart.

   MERRY CHRISTMAS

GOD BLESS

Keeping up Christmas-1

26 December 2011
Christmas Time-silver bells, carols, Christmas trees, colorful lights, Christmas cakes and pudding, new dress, fun, blasts etc.  all this has to go with the celebration.

Fine….. Yet a small lingering thought goes off and on……..

There is nothing wrong to keep up with Christmas season, but we (true Christians) want more than  that -- the real joy to cherish and treasure for the entire year, that God has send His only begotten Son to save us.

Hence we should carry the same spirit 24*7 – 365 days- 12 months Christmas.

 It means that - wishing, gifting, giving a big smiles, caroling, shopping, partying etc – during Christmas time should not be a show off.

Christmas has becomes more and more commercialized and exceeded the traditional limits, filled with fun (there is no place or even  a thought for Christ). It has become more complicated to separate the traditions from what it is that we are celebrating.

"The real Christmas challenge belongs to Christians: how to take Christmas out of the open public domain and move it back to the religious sphere once again."

·         Christmas lights twinkle and glitter on houses, roads and everywhere on trees during this wonderful time of the year. It spells bound people of all ages. Each time you see Christmas lights remember:

“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light……The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world…….He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world.John 1:4-10

  • ·The Christmas songs fill the air throughout the Christmas season.We attend all carol service with joy and sing the songs with enthusiasm. We speak of the angles singing the good news to the shepherds.
Obviously music is an important for us, as a  part of our worship. God has given us a new song to sing and given the talents to praise and worship.

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

“….speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,  always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20    ( to be cond……)

Have a Christ-filled Christmas and...Keep Close To Jesus

MERRY CHRISTMAS
