Our God is a God who sends His blessing ,where there is harmony and unity. The Lord had said it was good and pleasant for brothers to dwell together in unity. He created us for unity and togetherness, therefore, God hates when brothers, spread strife or conflict or dispute, (through tale bearing, ill-natured stories, gossip etc with wicked and purposeful intentions,) within the family, which will torn apart as well as stir up frictions and troubles . Naturally it produce disturbances among the family members and friends, it is hateful to God, because God desires that the human being should live in harmony.
Bible has many verses, which holds a sign –board of warning:
“….Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. ….such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned”. (Titus 3:10 ).
We can visualize this divisive character among the family member as well among the brothers in Christ.“Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer ….no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” (1 John 3:15). “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?”(1 John 3:17).
“… Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”( 1 John 4:20).
“A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city; disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.” Proverbs 18:19).” Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble. But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them. “(1 John 2:9-11). “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”(Proverbs 17:17).
We are instructed to avoid those who cause divisions. We must be assertive and self confident in our ways , if we sense such divisive or a conflict–ridden element.
Some people will not rest until they enact their divisive plan. So be alert. “…. to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. (Romans.16:17). ” This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. “(1 John 3:10)
God won’t accept your offerings nor your prayers will not be receiving answers, if you have the divisive nature God hates. ” You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”( Matthew 7:5). “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”( Matthew 5:24).
How can we be free from these things which God hates and filled with those things which He loves?
- We must be honest with ourselves and with God; let His Word come into our hearts and reveal the things which displease Him. Then we must admit our wrong, confess our sin and try to leave that which grieves the Lord.
- We must seek the purification and be cleansed by His blood.
- Learn to disagree ( the erroneous matters) without having a disagreeable lifestyle.
- Keep your heart as a clean white paper where GOD can write HIS words to enlighten you.
- All seven of the things are intertwined with one to another in various ways.
- You have to Identify, resist and learn to hate such impulses—which God hates.
