Meditating on God's Word

13 October 2011
Meditate means to ponder, restate, think aloud, consider continuously and utter something over and over again. (dictionary). This is exactly what we need to do with the word of God. Bible quotes that Joshua was encouraged when the new leadership responsibility came to him, the same verse can be taken as a strong promise to lean upon when we stumble.
  • Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua.1:8).

Even though God speaks to our spirits we still need to understand His teachings and we need to focus on the word through Meditation. This implies a reading the Scriptures, a verbal and vocal interaction with God in His word, seems to help.
We need a mingling of reading the word of God and through prayer:
“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.(Ephesians.6:17-18)
Even we can share the thoughts through a singing  and praising God :
“speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians.5:19).

"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. Colossians 3:16

The Word of God is so powerful and you have to familiarize yourself with WORD OF GOD , for your daily life.

The more you read , more blessings you can draw from the heavenly source.
“….Power belongs to you, God”. Psalm 62:11

Meditation is something related to the heart; but the heart's thought is expressed by the words of the mouth and therein reflected in our actions and reactions. Meditation of the heart is a silent pondering of God's law, this inner reflection is accompanied by the words of the mouth, most likely in an attempt to articulate the meditation itself: that is, to put into words what the heart sees and to offer it as prayer or praise or a song to God.

"Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." Psalm 5:1-3

"Let the words of my mouth and
the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight,
O LORD, my strength and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14

Praise the Lord    GOD BLESS
