Hope- an anchor for the soul

7 February 2012
"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:24.

Hope is an essential condition for faith. Hope is "a positive unwavering expectation of good".

“But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.” 1 Thessalonians 5:8

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain….” Hebrews 6:19

Hope keeps us in the place where we can trust, but it is not itself "faith". Nevertheless, without hope there is nothing hoped for, (there cannot be faith.)

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.

Through faith we can have the answer to our prayer before we see anything change in the natural order.

Jesus said, "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." Mark 11:24.

God expects us, even commands us, to believe that our petitions are answered by God AT THE MOMENT WE MAKE THEM.

“…..How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Isaiah 31:19

“….Before they call I will answer;  while they are still speaking I will hear. Isaiah65:24
Believe that you will get the response immediately WHEN you pray. God is trustworthy and always has resources to back His promises .

Living faith always has corresponding actions. To live in faith, means to act and say what you believe is right, without doubting.

We talk and act according to what we really believe. It is compatible with inner peace.(unshakeable hope)

“…..but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

“we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:10

“Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:13

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have…1 Peter 3:15 –

You need  “perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Romans 5:4

Strengthen your foundation of hope or else it will shatter your Faith.
Trust in the Lord

Have faith without doubting.
Without HOPE nothing works out.

No turning back. Park your activities on the anchor of hope.

God Bless
